David Kostis

David qualified as a referee in 1988 and joined Harrow Referees’ Society immediately after passing the examination as we all used to do. He was presented with his certificate and a copy of the Referees’ Association Manual of Guidance by the then FA Secretary, Ted Croker, who was Guest Speaker at David’s first Society meeting.

He refereed on several Saturday and Sunday leagues and was promoted to level 6 in 2003.

David took over as Harrow RA Honorary Secretary in 1990 and received the Ted Gale award in 1992 for making a significant contribution to the Society. In 2006 he was elected as Chairman, a post that he held until 2015 when he was elected as President, the post he still holds. He was awarded Harrow RA Life membership in 2015.

He received Middlesex County FA Long Service Awards in 2009 and 2013 and the Referee’s Association Long and Meritorious Service Award in 2012, which was presented to him by former Premier League referee, RA President and Chairman of the FA Referees’ Committee, David Elleray at Annual Conference.

David is a life-long Chelsea supporter and works as a Chelsea Tour Guide at Stamford Bridge.
